Your accommodation for the weekend will be on a 1600 acre mixed organic farm near Cirencester in the Cotswolds. We will have exclusive use of The Orchard, a truly tranquil place to find peace and discover your creativity. Art lessons will be held on-site in The Green Room, so that you can arrive, kick off your shoes and leave the world behind you for an entire weekend!
Built from the farm's own wood the accommodation provides "rustic comfort", with nine beautifully bright, spacious and comfortable rooms (seven twin (can be double) with en-suite shower rooms, one single with en-suite shower room and another with en-suite bathroom), a large sitting room and kitchen, underfloor heating and a fabulously wide south facing verandah.
WOODCHIP BOILER fed from the farm’s sustainably coppiced woods is the only source of heating and with the help of solar thermal provides all the hot water for the kitchens. All interior PAINTS soy bean based eco friendly. LIGHTING all low energy. BUILDINGS made from the farm’s own green oak, Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar, milled on site. WOODBURNERS using only firewood from the sustainably coppiced woodland. FOOD all cooked on farm with a very high percentage of the ingredients from the farm itself, in the late summer and autumn can be as much as 90% of a meal (rice, nuts, chocolate, tea and coffee are the main delicious culprits!) WATER from the bore hole. Much of the electricity provided by SOLAR PV and two 11KW WIND TURBINES
100% organic meals are provided, inspired daily by what is grown and raised on the farm itself; vegetables, soft fruit, flour, cheese, milk, butter, cream and meat. A very informal breakfast to be enjoyed at your leisure, will be laid out for you in the living/kitchen area, consisting of cereals, muesli, fruit, yoghurt, homemade bread, jams etc. Lunchtime in The Green Room will be seasonal soup, bread, butter and cheese all from the farm. A two-course supper held on the terrace will follow the progress of the kitchen garden which covers 10 acres. The kitchen has Soil Association Certification, a rare credit, shared with only 12 restaurants throughout the whole of the UK.
Please note, that all dietary requirements can be catered for.
